UNN to host conference on Witchcraft




The University of Nigeria, UNN, Nsukka, Enugu state, is set to host a conference on witchcraft later this month.

According to a report on the school’s website, the conference is billed to hold between November 26 and November 27.

The conference, which has the theme “Witchcraft: Meaning, factors and practices”, is convened by the Professor B.I.C Ijomah Centre for Policy and Research in UNN.

A notice of the event listed David Ker, a former vice-chancellor of Benue State University, as the keynote speaker, The Cable reports.

It also said Charles Igwe, UNN vice-chancellor, is the chief host, while Egodi Uchendu, director, B.I.C Ijomah centre for policy and research, is the host.

A check on the official website of the University confirmed the report. The section dedicated for the conference reads:

The B. I. C Ijomah Centre For Policy Studies and Research, University of Nigeria, Nsukka invites the university community and the general public to her first international conference tagged “Witchcraft”  scheduled to hold on the 25th through 28th of November, 2019 at the  Energy Centre Conference Hall, University of Nigeria, Nsukka. The conference seeks to find answers to pertinent questions on the practice of witchcraft in Africa and beyond. Come one! Come all!!

The Merriam Webster Dictionary described witchcraft as the use of sorcery or magic.
