If it’s one thing Black people are as a whole it’s creative, which is why last month all of the sites within iOne Digitial decided to release a collective Creative Class recognizing 55 men and women across a variety of professional disciplines “who’ve pushed the needle forward in immeasurable ways over the last year.”

MadameNoire honored the following 10 women who we determined aren’t waiting to be told what to do, but are writing their own success stories. And on October 24, we, along with Bossip, HipHopWired, HelloBeautiful, Cassius, NewsOne, and Global Grind, celebrated these women and all of our Creative Class selectees at a special event in Atlanta.

  • Natasha Rothwell Writer, Actress, Comedian “Insecure,” Saturday Night Live”
  • Tomi Adeyemi Author, “Children of Blood and Bone” Creative Writing Coach
  • Mary Pryor Cannaclusive/Cannabis entreprenuer
  • Tiffany Aliche, The Budgetnista
  • Tiffany Hardin Director of Strategic Alliances and Business Development, Black Girl In Om
  • Brandi Harvey Founder, Beyond Her
  • Glory Edim Founder, Well-Red Black Girl
  • Maya W. Banks, Director of Brand and Editorial, Strong Black Lead
  • Shelah Marie Founder, Curvy Curly Conscious

With the support of AT&T Dream in Black, iOne Digital brought together creatives from all walks of life at Ponce City Market’s Skyline Park for no other goal than to turn up in the name of creativity. Guests did just that, quite stylishly we might add. And between photo booths, readings courtesy of The Overflo creator Timil Jones, cartoon drawings by Tony Smith, music spun by DJ Wally Sparks and food and drink, there was no shortage of activations or inspiration.
