In case you forgot Jennifer Lopez is a fashion icon, the multi-hyphenate superstar just surprised the fashion world in Milan by appearing in a gown inspired by the barely-there green Versace dress she wore at the 2000 Grammys.
Lopez, 50, walked the runway in an updated version of the dress, then returned to the runway with Donatella Versace herself. The look was part of Versace’s spring 2020 show Friday during Milan Fashion Week.
The jungle-themed invite for the show gave attendees a hint that J.Lo would revive the look on the runway. A golden palm tree in the center of the stage piqued interest even more. Insiders began whispering that they anticipated the appearance, but were nonetheless delighted to see Lopez, who closed the catwalk show.
When the “Hustlers” star stepped out, the crowd starting cheering and stood up to catch a better view — and, of course, take pictures. Anna Wintour was seen giving the star a standing ovation, with an uncharacteristic grin across her face.
The sleeveless and backless sheer dress was an altered version of Lopez’s original look which, believe it or not, showed even more skin than the star originally bared back in 2000.
