Erika Jayne is getting ready for Broadway and all the jazz that comes with it.
The “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star, 48, is set to take the stage as Roxie Hart in “Chicago” on January 6, 2020, with an insider telling Page Six on Wednesday that her rehearsals are “starting soon, but there’s no confirmed date yet.”
“She’ll move to New York in December,” the insider added, noting that “RHOBH” cameras will be following her for “some of it.”
We’re told that “talks started beginning earlier this year” for her to take the role after she completed healing from her knee surgery — and possibly after “RHONY” fixture Luann de Lesseps infamously didn’t take the gig.
The cabaret star jumped the gun to announce that she would be joining the production as Mama Morton, with a spokesperson for the show telling us that she was actually not confirmed to hit the stage. Her rep later explained to us, “Due to scheduling conflicts, between her [Bravo show], her jewelry line and her successful cabaret tour [with ‘The Countess and Friends’] Luann will not be joining the cast of ‘Chicago’ at this time.”
Jayne — whose legal name is Erika Girardi — won’t be the first “RHOBH” star to play the coveted role. Her co-star Lisa Rinna starred as Roxie in 2007 opposite her actor husband, Harry Hamlin.
