Former MLB star Jim Edmonds denies cheating on his wife, former “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Meghan King Edmonds, but does admit to behaving inappropriately with another woman.
After cheating allegations surfaced this week, Jim confessed to Us Weekly on Thursday, “Regrettably, I had a lapse in judgment. I engaged in an inappropriate conversation with this person.” But he insisted, “At no time was there any type of relationship or physical contact. Absolutely none. This is someone trying to profit from my name. I am aware she has done this to others in the past.”
“Clearly, I made a very poor decision to expose myself and my family to this type of person. For this, I am truly sorry and sought forgiveness from my wife.”
Earlier this week, AllAboutTheTea.com posted a series of steamy texts, allegedly sent between Jim and another woman. The site also claimed the alleged relationship turned physical.
Jim emphasized that he’s “never had any sort of a physical relationship outside of my marriage with her or anyone else.”
He said he plans to pursue legal action.
Meghan, 34, and Jim, 48, married in 2014 and share three children.
In the past, Meghan has accused Jim of being “removed.”
While going through IVF to conceive in 2016, Meghan blogged for Bravo about the couple’s relationship issues and wrote: “I was really disappointed in Jimmy’s lack of sentiment throughout my IVF process. And honestly, there were moments I was questioning if getting pregnant was even the right choice. Now that I am pregnant he is so happy and excited for our baby girl to come, but at the same time I still think he’s removed.”
Though Meghan was only on “RHOC” for two seasons, she could be making an appearance on the upcoming 14th season. In February, she was spotted filming at a restaurant with cast members Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador, but an insider told Page Six at the time that she is not back on the show in an official capacity.
