Aramide to be inducted into Grammy’s governing board




Singer-songwriter,
Aramide, has announced that she is set to be inducted into the governing board
of the Recording Academy.

The Recording
Academy is the organizer of the much vaunted Grammy Awards.

The ‘Iwo
Nikan’ singer announced the feat in a series of tweets on Friday.

“And today
Im happy to announce to you that after being an active voting member of the
recording academy for years, this Monday, I will be inducted into the Recording
Academy (the GRAMMYs®) Governance Board. I will now be a part of the Governors
for the Washington DC Chapter board,” she wrote in parts.

Aramide is
one of the most eclectic female musicians in Nigeria.

She
describes her genre of music as Afro-Soul.

Her song ‘Iwo
Nikan’ earned her an award for Best Vocal Performance (Female) at the Headies
2015.

Aramide’s
debut album SUITCASE was released
November 22, 2016 and features Sound Sultan, Ice Prince, Adekunle Gold, Koker
and Sir Dauda.
